New Page link in the menu section

I added a page that links to amazon items that are on my wishlist or that I have so that it makes it easier for everyone to find items to stock up on. I will keep adding more as I find more things.

Baking Soda: Who knew?

I had no idea about all the uses for baking soda.  I use it as toothpaste or along with store bought toothpaste since my dad always used it.  I have also used it in a bath for my daughter when she was an infant and had diaper rash.  I am so adding this to my list to stock up on!!!!

Puts out fires
Use in your bath water to prevent being smelly but not having to use soap
Reduces acid reflux
Cooking/baking
Repel ants and roaches
Clean fresh fruits and veggies
Hand cleaner before you eat
Cleaning your cast iron pans
Toothpaste
Mouth Wash - to prevent gum and tooth issues
Underarms instead of deodorant
Prevents chaffing
In your boots to prevent chaffing, smelling, and blisters
Helps pull out splinters - make a paste, put over splinter, and cover. it will help it come out.

and probably many more I will still learn about. Once I do I will add it here. If you know of other uses feel free to leave them in the comments on this post.

What I am working on right now

I have been dehydrating fruits and veggies to preserve.  My 2yr old daughter LOVES the dried fruits over non-dehydrated.  They seem to taste sweeter once dried but have no added sugar.

The veggies I have been dehydrating then go into canning jars to make premade soups that only need hot water to rehydrate and eat.   Eventually I will add in freeze dried meats to make them into complete meals.  This will make it easier to use down the road.  Pop in a packet of oxygen absorbers and then seal the can.  These do not last as long as something actually canned but you can keep changing out the oxygen packets.

I will be ordering canning equipment within the next week so I can start canning foods since I did not have room in my car to bring my grandfathers canning equipment back home with me after visiting him over the holidays.  I decided to move my office to the unused dining room in our rental so that I can start storing more food in one of the bedrooms.

Every time I go shopping I pick up a few cans to add to my stash when they are on sale.  I used to be big on couponing but over the last year it became harder since I moved and was not getting the same amount of coupons.  I have started back thinking about couponing so I can get more foods.  Nothing like on the fake tv show, Extreme Couponers.  I am hoping to get back into it to be able to get more fruits and veggies to be able to use when prepping.
